None of us could have predicted the events that unfolded this time last year as we set out on our 10th year of 40acts. Even fewer of us imagined that one year later we would still not be through the storm that Covid-19 has created.

Much has changed and we’re changing too.

40acts won’t be returning as you know it this year.  After a lot of agonising we decided not to create new challenges or resources for 2021, but to focus our energies this year on revealing the urgent issues our communities face and showing you how you can ‘give hope’ in this crisis.

Your generosity and your action are still needed now, more than ever.

It’s safe to say that many people and communities are in desperate need of our generosity and love at this moment.

That’s why, for the last few weeks, we’ve been working on something new in partnership with UK Churches and Christian charities who are committed to giving hope and responding with urgency to the needs of our communities at this time.

We’ll post again soon with a sneak peek and an invitation to give hope this Lent.

If you’re reading this and planned to do 40acts this Lent, we know you’ll be disappointed not to find a new daily challenge arriving in your inbox next week.

To help ease the pain we’ve been collating an archive of previous years’ 40acts resources and made them free to download and use – although please be mindful of your own circumstance and local lockdown rules if you decide to create your own challenge this Lent.

If you’re really committed you can also reminisce through previous years’ challenges on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, or use one of the YouVersion reading plans.

Remember, 40acts started with a simple idea to commit to 40 days of giving out, not giving up – to put others before ourselves and to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and follow his call to love our neighbours.

For Lent 2021 we’re going to ask you to help give hope to those who might otherwise give up.

We’ll be in touch later this week to share how you can be involved.

Stay safe,

The 40acts team at Stewardship

P.S: We’re also working behind the scenes on some other big changes at Stewardship, shaped by our shared 40acts experiences, which will arrive after Easter. More on that later…
